Are you aware that you are the number one source for your own health and well-being?
A lot of people rely on things that are outside of them when it comes to their health and well-being. They rely on doctors or they blame on whatever is going on in their surroundings, like pollution, exercising conditions, food on offer and so on.
Doctors and other health professionals have their their value, don’t get me wrong. But you should really turn to them when absolutely necessary. If you outsource your health and well-being fully to the hands of others, you are an underdog in the game of your own health.
You Are the Source of Your Own Health and Well-Being
The thing is that you – your decisions, your attitudes and your perceptions – are really what affect your health and well-being.
Think about it. You decide, for example, what you eat. If you go to your fridge, do you eat the cheesecake or do you eat the salad or something else? You also decide what kind of food you order at a restaurant and what you choose to take on your plate at a buffet.
You decide whether you’re going to just lounge on the couch and watch some reality TV, or you decide if you want to do some exercise, go for a walk, go to the gym.
Those are all decisions that affect your health and your well-being.
It Is Also About the Attitude.
In my other blog posts, I have talked about what do you pay attention to. Do you pay attention to what is wrong in your life? Or do you pay attention to what is good in your life? And do you pay attention to what is possible in your life?
What you pay attention to defines how you feel and what kind of attitude you have.
The Effect of Your Thoughts
Science has shown that our thoughts have tremendous effects on our health and well-being. How you feel at any given moment affects how your cells in your body are reacting and how they feel. What kind of environment are they living in? Stress is the number one cause, as far as I know, for any illnesses or anything that’s going on regarding your health and well-being.
So instead of feeling stressed, if you feel relaxed, if you feel happy, if you feel love or any other positive feelings, the cells in your body are in an environment that promotes the well-being of the cells.
Negative emotional states, on the other hand, create an environment that enhances cellular malaise, causing your immune system to weaken and, thus, creating an environment for disease outbreaks.
Your thoughts are really the number one factor that influence your health and well-being. Your decisions, how you feel, it all affects your health and well-being. And they are all based on how you think.
Words of Wisdom
In my book, Words of Wisdom, chapter 16, is about health and well-being. And again, it contains a lot of good, very wise quotes from wise people regarding this topic. One of them is from Dr. Bruce Lipton:
Dr. Bruce Lipton is a cell biologist and he knows what he’s talking about here. He’s done extensive research on the topic of health and well-being and especially the well-being of the cells in your body.
Your thoughts affect how you behave, how you act and what kind of decisions you make. Your thoughts also affect your emotional states at any given moment. Do you feel happy? Do you feel angry? Do you feel joy or love or excitement, any positive kind of state of mind? Or do you feel negative emotions?
Those states of mind affect the environment where your cells live. And therefore, you are the number one cause for any health or any illnesses that you have.
